About the Show
In some form or another hip-hop music has been around for half a century. In The Wave, we explore the genre’s rich, varied history. I, DJ Dee-Lish, am trying to break down limited conceptions of what hip hop is and what it can sound like. The Wave also raises awareness on social and political issues, from global news to current events in the Twin Cities. Just as hip-hop pushes against mainstream narratives, so will my news coverage.
