Album Review: Dorian Electra—Flamboyant

With the release of their first album ever, the rate at which Dorian Electra has blown up over the past few months is impressive—and for good reason. Flamboyant is an incredible start to a career. The production is is well-balanced between bright, energetic tones and complex, heavily layered experimental beats. Over these, Dorian’s lyrics cover themes ranging from gender expression (“Emasculate”, “Guyliner”), sexuality (“Flamboyant”, “Adam & Steve”, “fReAkY 4 Life”), and even bureaucracy (“Career Boy”). Overall, Dorian Electra has produced an incredibly captivating and enticing first album, which leads me to wonder, what’s next for our Medieval Glam Non-Binary King™️? (5/5)
